Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after serving in a monastery in Romania, felt a deep call to the Holy Land. He journeyed there, joining the Romanian Skete of Prodromos on Mount Athos before eventually settling in the wilderness near the Jordan River. Living in a cave near the Monastery of St. George Hozevit, he dedicated himself to prayer, asceticism, and writing spiritual poetry. Despite facing hardship and isolation, his love for God and his fellow man shone brightly, offering guidance and comfort to those who sought him out. His writings continue to inspire, reflecting his profound spiritual insight and unwavering faith.
