In Durostorum, Emilian, a brave young man, shattered pagan idols during a festival. Arrested and questioned by the judge, he boldly confessed his faith in Christ. Despite threats, Emilian refused to deny his belief. Enraged, the judge ordered him to be mercilessly beaten. Unwavering, Emilian endured the torture with prayers on his lips. Finally, he was sentenced to be burned alive. As the flames engulfed him, Emilian's face shone with divine light, and he peacefully surrendered his soul to God, becoming a martyr for the Christian faith.
