Venerable Gregory, enduring slander and persecution, journeyed to Constantinople, rebuking Emperor Leo for iconoclasm. Despite threats, he healed the sick and cast out demons through prayer. Imprisoned for his faith, he continued to strengthen believers until his death around 842 AD.
