Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their Christian faith in 315 AD. Ermil openly confessed his belief in Christ, defying the emperor's decree to worship idols. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's torture, betraying his own faith. Both were condemned. Before their execution, they prayed fervently. They were drowned in the Danube, becoming symbols of unwavering faith and brotherly love.
