A fisherman turned Apostle, Andrew, brother of Peter, first-called by Jesus. He preached throughout the lands, from Scythia to Greece, establishing churches and spreading the Gospel. In Patras, Greece, he was crucified on an X-shaped cross, now known as St. Andrew's Cross, for refusing to renounce his faith.
