Paraschiva, as a young girl, after hearing the Gospel about abandoning everything for Christ, gave away her clothes to the poor. When her parents found out, they were not pleased. This act foreshadowed her life of devotion. She later left home to become a nun and lived an ascetic life. Her relics are now venerated in Iași, Romania, drawing pilgrims seeking healing and comfort.
