During his time in communist Romania, Fr. Dumitru Stăniloae was imprisoned for his faith. In prison, deprived of books and writing materials, he translated the "Philokalia" from Greek into Romanian with only a pencil and smuggled scraps of paper. This monumental work became a cornerstone of Romanian Orthodox theology, revitalizing spiritual life under oppression. May his example inspire us to find strength in faith even in the darkest times and to use our gifts to spread God's word, no matter the cost. Lord, we ask for Fr. Dumitru’s intercession to help us remain steadfast in our beliefs.
