Hieromartyr Evangelicus of Tomis, a 4th-century bishop, faced persecution under Roman Emperor Diocletian. Imprisoned for his faith, he was subjected to brutal tortures. The legend says he was thrown into a fiery furnace, but emerged unharmed, his prayers protecting him. Ultimately, he was beheaded for refusing to renounce Christ. His unwavering faith and miraculous survival in the furnace are testaments to his saintliness.
