Germanus, during the invasion of the Goths, fled to the mountains with other monks, seeking refuge in a cave near the Black Sea. He lived an ascetic life, dedicated to prayer and fasting. He performed many miracles, healing the sick and casting out demons. His relics were later moved to a church built in his honor, becoming a site of pilgrimage and veneration.
