In the early 16th century, young #Philotheia, an orphan, was known for her exceptional beauty and virtue. Her stepmother, envious and cruel, forced her into hard labor and subjected her to abuse. One day, while carrying food to workers in the field, she encountered the poor and hungry. Moved by compassion, she shared the food, incurring her stepmother's wrath. In a fit of rage, the stepmother struck Philotheia with a spindle, mortally wounding her. Her relics are now in the Argeș Monastery in #Romania, a testament to her compassion and innocence.
Holy Philotheia, intercede for us, that we may also show kindness and love to those in need. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #Martyr
