Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, in the 17th century, abandoned worldly life to find solitude in the Iezeru Mountains. He carved a hermitage out of rock and dedicated himself to prayer and fasting. Known for his profound humility and spiritual insight, he attracted other monks, forming a small monastic community. He guided them with wisdom and love, teaching them the importance of inner peace and devotion. Even after his death, his presence was felt through miracles reported by those who visited his hermitage.
