Martyr John, a merchant, was in Crimea when a Venetian merchant slandered him to the local governor, accusing him of renouncing his faith. John refused to deny Christ, enduring brutal tortures. He was dragged behind a horse, then beheaded. His body was miraculously preserved, radiating light, and his relics became a source of healing and comfort to believers.
