In 1475, at Vaslui, Prince Stephen the Great faced the Ottoman Empire's massive army. Leading his Moldavian troops, he prayed fervently before the battle. Despite being outnumbered, Stephen's strategic brilliance and the courage of his soldiers secured a decisive victory against the invaders. After the triumph, he built the Saint Stephen Monastery at Putna, dedicating it to God in gratitude for His divine assistance. The monastery became a symbol of faith and resilience.
