Venerable Gherasim, abbot of Tismana monastery in 14th-century Wallachia, dedicated his life to prayer and asceticism. He rebuilt the monastery, fostering a spiritual center. During a Tatar invasion, he bravely protected the community, and his sanctity and pastoral care were renowned. He chose the path of martyrdom over apostasy, dying as a witness to Christ, and now stands before God in the Kingdom.
