In 1760, in the village of Săliştea, Transylvania, Oprea, a simple peasant, stood firm against forced conversion to Catholicism by the Austrian authorities. Despite immense pressure and threats, he refused to renounce his Orthodox faith. He openly confessed Christ and encouraged others to remain steadfast. After enduring torture and imprisonment, he was eventually martyred for his unwavering devotion. His sacrifice became a symbol of resistance and a testament to the strength of faith in the face of adversity.

Holy Martyr Oprea, pray to God for us to remain strong in our #OrthodoxFaith. May his example inspire us to defend the #Truth and live according to God's will. #Saints #Martyr #Christianity
