On May 12, we commemorate Saint John the Wallachian, a young Romanian who, while living in Constantinople, refused to convert to Islam. Despite facing immense pressure and torture, he remained steadfast in his Christian faith. He was beheaded in 1662 for his unwavering devotion to Christ.
