Peter Mogila, a man of noble birth, chose the monastic life over worldly power. As Metropolitan of Kiev, he revitalized the Orthodox Church in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He founded schools, defended Orthodoxy against challenges, and produced key theological works, including the Orthodox Confession. This confession, approved by other Orthodox Churches, became a standard of Orthodox doctrine. His efforts to reform and educate preserved the faith during a time of great pressure. Let us pray that, through his prayers, God strengthens us in our commitment to truth and steadfastness in faith.
