Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after serving in parishes, sought deeper communion with God in the Holy Land. Monastic life at the Romanian Skete of Saint John the Baptist near the Jordan River, then solitude in the wilderness near the Chozeba Monastery. Despite illness and hardship, his love for God only grew. He wrote poems, translated patristic texts, and guided many souls.
