Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their Christian faith. Ermil openly confessed his belief in Christ during a time of persecution, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was tormented by his duty to guard Ermil. Witnessing Ermil's unwavering faith and suffering, Stratonic could no longer hide his belief and embraced martyrdom alongside him. They were both drowned in the river for refusing to renounce Christ.

O Holy Martyrs Ermil and Stratonic, intercede for us, that we may have the courage to stand firm in our faith.
