On this day, we remember Martyr Oprea of Săliştea, who refused to renounce his Orthodox faith when pressured by the Austrian authorities in the 18th century to convert to Uniatism. Despite torture and imprisonment, he remained steadfast, declaring, "I was born Orthodox, and Orthodox I will die!" He was eventually exiled and died far from home, a true witness to Christ.
