Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, felt a divine call to monasticism. He settled at the Romanian Skete of Saint John the Baptist near the Jordan River. Laboring in humility and prayer, he transcribed patristic texts and aided pilgrims. Later, he withdrew to a hermitage in the cliffs of Hozeva. There, he intensified his asceticism and communion with God. His life was marked by profound humility and tireless spiritual labor.

Let us beseech #Saint John Iacob to intercede for us, that we may also find strength in humility and perseverance in prayer, glorifying God through our actions.
