Venerable Germanus, born to wealthy parents, renounced earthly riches for divine love. He was tonsured a monk at the age of 15. Seeking deeper solitude, he retreated to a cave near the Black Sea, where he lived a life of prayer and fasting. Despite his desire for isolation, his holiness drew many to him. He became known for his wisdom and ability to heal the sick. He founded a monastery and guided his monks in spiritual life, emphasizing humility and obedience.
