Saint Nicodim, a beacon of monasticism, chose the ascetic life in the 14th century. Driven by divine inspiration, he established the Tismana Monastery in Romania, a sanctuary of faith and learning. Legend says, guided by an angel, he discovered the perfect site for the monastery. His devotion was so profound that the Virgin Mary appeared to him, blessing his work.
