Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred in Singidunum (modern Belgrade). Ermil openly confessed his faith, enduring severe beatings. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his belief. Both were then drowned in the Danube River for their unwavering devotion.

Let us pray to these steadfast martyrs, that we too may find courage in our faith and stand firm against adversity.
