Saint John, during a Tatar raid, confessed his Christian faith openly. The Tatars, enraged, tortured him severely, tied him to a horse, and dragged him until he was nearly dead. Finally, they beheaded him. Christians secretly buried his body, which remained incorrupt, emitting a sweet fragrance, a testament to his holiness and unwavering faith.
