In 1686, during the Russo-Turkish War, Ottoman soldiers captured the monastery of Brazi. They tortured the monks, demanding they renounce their faith. Saint Theodosie, the abbot, refused, encouraging his brethren to remain steadfast. The Turks subjected him to brutal tortures: they pierced his hands and feet, and then, in a final act of cruelty, they beheaded him. His relics continue to bring forth miracles. May this holy martyr pray for us, that we, too, may be unwavering in our faith, even unto death.
