In Moesia, during the reign of Diocletian, Martyr Dassie, a Roman soldier, was chosen by his fellow soldiers to be their leader. However, Dassie, being a devout Christian, refused the honor, declaring he could not lead while worshipping Christ. For this, he was condemned to death. Before his execution, he rejoiced, thanking God for the opportunity to offer his life.
