Martyr John the Valah, a Romanian youth, was captured by Tartars and sold as a slave to a Muslim in Crimea. Despite pressure and torture, he refused to convert to Islam, remaining steadfast in his Christian faith. His master, enraged by John's unwavering devotion, had him brutally beheaded. Before his execution, John prayed fervently, thanking God for the strength to endure.
