Venerable Nicodim of Tismana, a 14th-century monk, established the Tismana Monastery in Romania after a divine vision. Guided by angels, he found a hidden cave for his hermitage. Nicodim translated religious texts into Slavonic, fostering literacy. His prayers protected the region from invaders.
