Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred for their faith in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' reign. Ermil openly confessed his belief in Christ, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was tormented by Ermil's suffering. When Stratonic's faith was revealed, he embraced martyrdom alongside Ermil. They were drowned in the Danube River for refusing to renounce Christ.
