In Durostorum, Emilian, a young man, served under the Roman judge. When the judge commanded all to worship idols, Emilian, filled with righteous anger, entered the pagan temple and smashed the idols. Seized and brought before the judge, he confessed his deed and his faith in Christ. Despite threats and tortures, Emilian remained steadfast. Condemned to be burned, he entered the fire with joy, offering his soul to God.
