On this day, we remember Martyr Oprea of Săliştea, who stood firm in his Orthodox Christian faith even when faced with threats of torture and death. He refused to convert to another religion and was brutally killed for his unwavering belief in Christ in 1780. His last words were a prayer for his persecutors.
