During his time in communist prisons, Fr. Dumitru Stăniloae endured immense suffering, yet he translated the Philokalia from Greek into Romanian. He did this in prison, writing in secret on scraps of paper. This monumental work made the wisdom of the Church Fathers accessible to the Romanian people, offering solace and spiritual guidance during a dark period of oppression. Pray that, through his intercessions, we too may find strength in faith amidst trials, and that his example inspires us to seek God's wisdom always.
