In the 4th century, during a time when Christians were persecuted by the Goths, Sava remained steadfast in his faith. Ordered to eat pagan sacrificial meat as a sign of renouncing Christianity, he refused, declaring his unwavering devotion to Christ. Despite threats, Sava stood firm, confessing Christ as the true God. He was martyred by drowning in the river Buzău, thus becoming a symbol of courage and faith.
