In the Roman city of Rome, during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, these four friends, Claudius, Castor, Sempronian, and Nicostratus, were skilled sculptors. They were commissioned to create a statue of the pagan god, Aesculapius. However, witnessing the faith and unwavering devotion of Christians, they converted to Christianity. When they refused to complete the pagan statue, they were tortured and then thrown into the Aniene River with stones tied around their necks. Let us pray: Holy Martyrs Claudius, Castor, Sempronian, and Nicostratus, pray to God for us!
