Priest-Confessor John of Galeş lived during a time of great spiritual struggle in Romania. Under communist rule, he became known for his unwavering faith and courage. He openly defended the #Orthodox #Church, ministering to the needs of the faithful. He secretly baptized children, performed weddings, and heard confessions. Despite facing constant surveillance and threats from the authorities, he never ceased his pastoral work. He was eventually arrested and imprisoned for his beliefs. His spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to inspire others through his example of faith and resilience. May we all pray that this Saint continues to do God’s work.
