Born in Moldavia, he yearned for monastic life early on, wandering to monasteries, facing trials, and ultimately finding guidance on Mount Athos. Known for extreme humility, he once secretly cleaned the monastery latrines at night. When his superiors discovered this, they were awed by his profound selflessness. He healed the sick and comforted the afflicted.
