Venerable Dometie of Râmeț, a monk of the 13th century, was known for his extraordinary mercy. A rich man once came to the monastery and, moved by Dometie's gentleness, offered him a large sum of money. Dometie refused to take it for himself. Instead, he used the wealth to build a hospital for the sick and the poor, providing them with care and comfort. He personally tended to the suffering, washing their wounds and feeding them. His life was a testament to selfless love.
