Peter Mogila, a man of noble Moldavian birth, chose the monastic life over worldly power. As Metropolitan of Kiev, he found the Orthodox Church in disarray, threatened by Polish Catholic influence. He revitalized its institutions, establishing schools and printing presses to combat ignorance and defend Orthodoxy. His most enduring legacy is the "Orthodox Confession," a clear articulation of Orthodox doctrine meant to distinguish it from both Catholic and Protestant misinterpretations. This confession, approved by other Orthodox Churches, became a standard text for centuries.
O Holy Peter, intercede for us, that we may stand firm in the true faith. #OrthodoxChurch #Confession #Theology #PeterMogila #Faith
