In 1958, #FatherConstantinSârbu, serving at the Antim Monastery, was arrested for anti-state activities. He had been offering spiritual guidance to many, including intellectuals, which drew the suspicion of the communist regime. Despite brutal interrogations and torture, he refused to betray his faith or compromise his spiritual mission. He was sentenced to death, later commuted to life imprisonment. He endured years of hard labor and solitary confinement, yet remained steadfast in his belief, offering solace to fellow prisoners.
