Martyr Nicander, a Roman soldier, and Marcian, his comrade, were converted by Hermolaus after witnessing his unwavering faith and miraculous healing. They began to visit imprisoned Christians, tending to their needs and burying the dead, risking their own lives. When their activities were discovered, they refused to renounce Christ, and were subjected to gruesome tortures, remaining steadfast in their belief until their martyrdom.
