Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, stood firm during Emperor Maximian's persecutions. Brought before the court, he refused to offer pagan sacrifices, declaring his unwavering faith in Christ. Despite pleas from his family and threats of torture, he remained steadfast. Irineu was beheaded for his beliefs in 304 AD.
