Saint Visarion, a Romanian monk from Lainici Monastery, faced persecution for his unwavering faith. In 1949, the communist regime arrested him for opposing the forced collectivization of agriculture and for defending the Church. He endured brutal torture in prison, refusing to renounce his beliefs. Despite suffering immensely, he remained steadfast, praying for his persecutors until his death in 1950.
