Venerable Onufrie, born a peasant, felt a divine calling early in life. Leaving his village, he joined a monastery, excelling in obedience and humility. Despite his desire for solitude, he was chosen to lead the Vorona Monastery. There, he rebuilt the church, fostered spiritual growth among the monks, and became known for his wisdom and compassion. Even after retiring to a hermitage, people sought his counsel.
