In 1760, during a time of religious oppression in Transylvania, Oprea of Săliştea bravely defended his Orthodox faith against forced conversion to Catholicism. Summoned to Sibiu, he was pressured to renounce Orthodoxy but stood firm, confessing Christ. Imprisoned and tortured, he refused to yield. After a year, he was dragged through the streets and brutally executed for his unwavering devotion. Oprea's martyrdom became a symbol of resistance and faith for the Orthodox Romanians.

Holy Martyr Oprea, intercede with Christ God for us! #Martyr #OrthodoxChristian #Romania #Faith #Saints
