During the communist regime in Romania, Father Ilarion Felea refused to compromise his faith. Arrested for his unwavering sermons and resistance to the secularization of the Church, he endured brutal torture in prison. Despite the immense pressure to renounce his beliefs and collaborate with the authorities, he remained steadfast, comforting his fellow prisoners and continuing to preach in secret. He was eventually killed in prison for his faith.
