St. Lup, a soldier, fearlessly confessed his Christian faith during the persecutions under Emperor Maximian. He served as a scribe to St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki, and was present at Demetrius's martyrdom. Lup collected Demetrius's blood in a cloth, and with it performed miracles, healing the sick and converting many. He was eventually martyred for his faith, beheaded after boldly confronting the emperor. His relics are venerated for their miraculous power.
