Visarion Toța, born in 1906, became a monk at Sihăstria Monastery. Later, ordained a priest, he served in Turda. Arrested in 1948 for resisting the communist regime's pressure to abandon Orthodoxy for Uniatism, he endured torture and imprisonment. He remained steadfast in his faith, encouraging others to do the same. He died in Aiud prison in 1964.
