Martyrs Romulus and Silvanus suffered during the reign of Emperor Diocletian in the city of Durostorum (present-day Silistra). Romulus, a soldier, was sentenced to be beheaded for refusing to offer sacrifices to idols. Silvanus, a fellow soldier and relative of Romulus, openly confessed his faith in Christ upon witnessing Romulus's martyrdom. He, too, was immediately beheaded.

Holy Martyrs Romulus and Silvanus, pray to God for us and inspire steadfastness in our faith!
