Venerable Dometie, a simple shepherd, lived near the Râmeț Monastery. One harsh winter, seeing the monks struggling with hunger, Dometie secretly brought them food, sharing his meager provisions. When the monks discovered his selfless acts, they were moved by his compassion. Dometie, desiring a life of quiet devotion, became a monk himself. His humility and boundless mercy became a guiding light for the community.
